Cantor Rachel Kohlbrenner
Cantor Rachel Kohlbrenner grew up in Miami, FL and was actively involved in her local Reform synagogue including NFTY as teenager. She graduated with a BA in Jewish Studies from University of Florida in 2004 and was ordained as a cantor at the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music in 2009. Before coming to Savannah, Cantor Rachel served as the cantor at Shir Ami in Newtown, PA and the cantor and director of youth and family programming and outreach at Central Synagogue – Beth Emeth in Rockville Centre, NY. She has also served on camp faculty for a session at URJ 6 Points Creative Arts Academy in West Chester, PA. Cantor Rachel and her husband Erik live with their two daughters, Abigail and Hannah. She is an avid reader who loves to chat books with everyone, enjoys crafting handmade cards and going to the theater whenever possible in her spare time.
